Fun with Kilts
So, at work last week I'm walking down the hall and the CFO/HR lady honcho is talking to another lady and I hear as part of their converstaion the other lady say, "I guess it takes all types."
As I passed them I said in a teasing tone, "I wish you wouldn't say that when a kilted man is passing you." The CFO smiled broadly then started wolf whistling and saying "wooohooo!" Then she caught herself and said I guess I shouldn't be "harrassing" you like that. It was all in fun, we're friends, and really it was a joy since she's a core part of the management team that caused me the "kilt distress" a couple times last year. For me, it kind of said that I'm doing something right. Have backed off of full time kilt wearing. But still wear kilts when I want to a couple times a week. And I take pains that I'm well dressed when kilted at work and when I'm not it usually either casual Friday in jeans or "plain" average look in slacks.
Then, last night a bunch of coworkers planned to gather at a local pizza joint to socialize after work. One lady brought her husband and kids. The place was packed and they got a table but the rest of us didn't and we decided to go across the street to a Mexican food restaurant. I went in to tell the lady with the family that we were going across the street. As I was leaving one of her teenage daughters said she wanted to ask me something. Okay...here we go. She said, "When you're wearing a kilt and its cold out, don't your legs get cold?" I smiled and said very politely, "Nope, I've got a heater under there." Put the whole table on the floor, including her dad who's a local police officer.
Been a while since I've had any comments. Then two back-to-back. Its nice to be in a fun place with kilts.
