    Funny and NOT funny story.

after being told by my boss that i couldn't wear my kilt in to work today.

    Discussed here:
    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ight=Riverkilt

i pass by her in the hall and she asks where my Kilt is!

i reply "you said i couldn't wear it"

to which she replies "oh, we couldn't really stop you from wearing it in. that would infringe upon your cultural background. besides you would have heard it nonstop from the guys"

have an urge to hop on the bus during lunch ( a 10 minute ride ) go BACK to my house, change, and come back to work.

Sounds suspiciously like managerial doublespeak to me; "We can't make you not wear the kilt, but as you know our preference, that is not to say that we won't consider your choice of clothing to be a career decision on your part."

I'd do it. That is, unless she sounded derogetory during today's conversation.

Go home and change, just remember her "we couldn't really stop you from wearing it in" comment next time she decides to pull this kind of thing.
