    Garrison Tartan

    Anyone ever heard of it?

A year ago, maybe two I bought a Sportkilt in a corporate tartan they called "Garrison". I looked at some tartan finder sites (so many good ones!) but havent found it. Its a beautiful tartan and I'd like to get a 'real' kilt in it someday, but dont know if its available.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

Have you tried calling them directly? Maybe it's one of theirs.

I have one they discontinued, called "Irisher" I've never seen anywhere, although it looks a lot like an Abercrombie tartan. They also got rid of one called "Irish Revenge" that I really liked.

I think some of their "tartans" are just suitable plaid cloth they make up names for!

A good place to check the tartans available from the poly viscose mills is at this tartan bedspread site. They show 70 some poly tartans. might sell the cloth too.

Figure SportKilt, et.al. can only select from the patterns the mills offer them to buy from.

I asked today when I saw the SK guys at their booth. It was just some material they picked up, but they are thinking of bringing it back in a heavier weight.

Hey, do you know if they have a showroom? I went out to the address on their website one day, and it was just a doublewide in a row of industrials. It was some minor holiday, and they weren't open, so I didn't get a chance to see if that was just a manufacturing site, or what.

Call ahead, that address is correct and when you step through the office, even the most hard-core kilter will stare in amazement at the vast number of kilts before your eyes. It's quite a sight.
James is a nice guy, so is the Office lady (can't ever remember her name)
The actual sewing shop is down around the way where they used to have their office.

Ask James about their Premier line in that tartan, it might be real enough for you.
