Geoffrey ???
I saw ads on ebay for Geoffrey from Pakistan and for Geoffrey from London. Are they one and the same? Has anyone had dealings with either of them? Are they reliable? Any comments would be appreciated.

Re: Geoffrey ???
Geoffrey (of Pakistan) is a good retailer. I have been a customer of his more than once. He is about the only one to sell buckle brogues that do not cost an arm and leg.
Geoffrey (tailor) is an Edinburgh based kilt and jacket maker at the higher end of the market. I have one of his kilts and three of his jackets and love them all.
Geoffrey from London - never heard of him.
Regards
Chas

Their kilts are acrylic and are good for going to the pub, but little else. I think the words are 'value for money'. You get what you pay for. My buckle brogues will last my lifetime and longer. The jackets aren't the best quality but if you are only going to wear one once or twice a year, why pay £600?

Re: Geoffrey ???
Quality control is lacking... Twisted sleeve lining, replacement had a sleeve lining too long, a pulled/missing thread in the fabric which went straight through the lapel.
Sizing seems to be an issue... A 44L came with longer sleeves but a regular body which seemed to be a mix of 40" shoulders, 50" chest, and sleeves that were the same width all the way down and might fit someone who is a 32" chest (small biceps)... If you are considering a jacket you might want to look at the made to measure option
Note to self: Must remember the pleaty bit goes at the back...

Re: Geoffrey ???
I got an email from Brad at The Kilted Nation letting me know that Geoffrey of Pakistan had "borrowed" (ahem) the design for his NationKilts without permission. I did indeed find Geoffrey selling one on eBay for $60.
I think I would try to avoid merchants that "borrow" designs from other merchants.

Like Chas, I've done business with Geoffrey of Pakistan as well and had only a positive experience. They were true to their word and my merchandise arrived as promised and in the condition I was expecting.

I've bought a jacket from them. The quality was appalling. Consequently I have not bought from them since and will not do so in the future.

Re: Geoffrey ???
I've got a pair of brogues from Geoffrey (Pakistan) as are all I can afford and they were superbly well made, delivered on time and I've found their customer service outstanding.
I've been looking at getting one of their Argyl sets and asked if it would be possible to swap the ultra-fluffy dress sporran for a different type - either less fluffy or leather, and they said they'll be happy to oblige.
Haven't used the UK company as they're out of my price range unless I get a better job or win the lottery.
