Going down to FL
For those in the area, I'll be down in DeFuniak Springs, FL, this coming Friday and Saturday as a presenter at the Chautauqua Assembly they are having there.
For more info:
http://www.florida-chautauqua-center...ogram_bios.htm
I'll have a booth with info from the Scottish Tartans Museum set up from 9 to 4 both days (tartan look-up, name research, general kilt related questions answered). Then from 4 to 5 I'll be giving a talk on the history of the kilt, again both days. My talk, I think you have to pay for, but the info booth is open free to the public.
Looks like a lot of other stuff going on there that weekend. Check it out and if anyone is in the area come say hi!

Have fun, and have a very safe journey! (and I don't say that JUST because there are a lot of folks here waiting for your kilts with baited breath...)

Enjoy your trip and remember the high winds they had recently. You may want to wear your heavy kilt pin.

Matt,
Once you've visited the Florida Chautauqua Center, any chance you might visit the original Chautauqua Institution in Chautauqua, NY? It would be a good opportunity for our mid-Atlantic and southern Ontario members to meet you.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

Matt, I would love to come up and say Hi, but that is way up in the panhandle, and too long a trip right now. Maybe Gatlinburg later this year...
