A good kilt lasts a lifetime, and more

There was some discussion in another thread about how a well made kilt will last long enough to become an heirloom. Here's a good example. I'm not associated with this seller in any way. I just found the ad and thuoght it was worth passing on. Check out the pictures for the beautiful condition of this kilt.

The ad:
This quality made kilt has had the one owner since new. He was with the 16th Battalion (the Cameron Highlanders of Western Australia). As such the tartan is the famous Cameron of Erracht.

The kilt is 53 years old and has been lovingly maintained, and looks as good as the day it was made.

It comes with matching tartan hose and red flashes.

The label states the kilt is 33”; 5’5” - 5’6”; however I am 6’2” with a 34” waist and it fitted me comfortably (see my photos at http://members.iinet.net.au/~bagpiper ).

The whole package sells for $195 (includes postage and insurance).

It does look nice. I do believe that a well-made wool kilt can stay in the family for generations - and this is all the more reason to have some family connection to the kilt or the tartan. So who is selling this? I'm assuming that the kilt itself is in the US as you say you have tried it on. How did you discover this?

Sorry I wasn't as clear as I thought I was. Everything after "The ad:" is a post from a piper's forum at www.bobdunsire.com. The name and email of the person that posted it is at the bottom.
