Instead, may I humbly suggest Kaspersky.
That's the reason I finally switched from AVG to Kaspersky. But, then my IT guys (who are avid gamers) switched from Kaspersky to the Microsoft Security Essentials and took me with them. Even better! While I hate plugging the Microsoft part of the it, it's truly been an excellent virus scanner.
I have to say that I am always amazed when people get a virus. I've had only one on a work laptop that should've been better protected, no skin off my nose as I never keep anything personal on my work computers. But, I've never, ever, had a virus on my home computers (and I've gone through 3 upgrades in 5years). Why? I don't click on bad links, I don't go insane on the FB or MSN, I don't accept files without scanning them first, or just not accept them at all, and I don't click on email attachments without checking the type of file and virus scan. I don't need a MAC to keep me virus clear.

How long have you been in association with your IT guys? I don't have and never did have any IT insiders to help me along. My degree at school showed me how to put PC's together and make run but I could not afford more tuition beyond that. The proliferation of viruses vs protection yields a prohibitive cost when one isn't fully schooled in the overall scope of cyber computing. Of course the schooling is quite costly. Those of yous with in office connected IT people and others of yous with the $$ to put into constant upgrade and maintenance are doing fine by me. I like the convenience brought with Mac. And I still like PC because I learned how to make it run. I also learned its costs to run,
or not.
