Guess ya never know...
My wife and I were up in Spokane last night to see Hairspray, and were wandering thru the concourse in search of refreshment. I was wearing my olive mocker and a sweater (sorry, no pictures), and noticed an older woman (late 60's, maybe?) with an intense expression checking me out. Turned to my wife and said something along the lines of, "I guess she didn't like what she saw", and the wife said, "You didn't hear what she said, did you?" I replied that I hadn't, and Paula says "She said, 'I LIKE that!'" That's what ya get for makin' assumptions...

I've found that some people's "focused look" is easily interprated as a scowl. You truly never know.

Too true. That focused look often times masks their indecision at approaching you to talk... I have had more than one coversation go this way
Me - Is there something I can help you with?
Them - Nope, sorry, was just wondering about the kilt!
And on it goes. I have made a number of new acquantances this way!

We were stopped last night on our way into Fridays by an older couple. The woman said " Ive got to know, What do you wear under your kilt?"
I used my friend Grynners line " That depends on whether your hands are warm or cold." She blushed deep scartlet and giggled. Her husband burst out laughing.
As it is reiterated on this site, NEVER underestimate the power of the kilt!

It's not always so easy reading people. I'm glad it was a positive reaction.
