Guidelines for "Family Rated" discussion should be sticky.
I was happy to see that all comments from a recent announcement were censored simultaneously I can now say that I have been admonished once... I do not want to repeat the experience.
Now, I haven't been able to locate a thread around here that sets out what all the 'verbotten' (taboo) subjects on this forum are; although I have been able to identify two (which I will not mention lest this post should be deleted).
Nonetheless, I think it would behoove us all---in the interest of simplifying the Mod Squad's work---to understand, with clarity, which subjects and words will be typed for naught, since 'Family-rated' is a rather nebulous term, unless you are employed by the CRTC or parallel bureau of the American broadcasting regulator.
I think it's fair to say that we all know about George Carlin's "7-words", but I think a missive by the Mod Squad or---better yet---a parliamentary discussion, of what should be kept from tarnishing the good name of our revered forum, would be helpful to those of us with more liberal views than the mean plurality of our membership.

For a start I'd say familiarize yourself with the Forum Rules

It used to be the practice that newbies had to read and acknowledge the forum rules before posting. It also seemed to be the practice that everyone had to check off on reviewing them once a year, whether a newbie or not. I personally do not agree with all of them. However, in spite of being one of the longest term members here, "I am a guest". I do not own or control this piece of cyber space, so I must abide by the rules. In spite of my personal beliefs, I do understand the reason behind them though.
