    Hello

    Hi,
thank you for letting me join your group. I have little experience of forums, so if I don't get my post in the right bit please forgive me and be gentle.
I have an unusual name, which you may be able to see, which eventually bugged me enough to start researching my family tree years ago.
By the time I finally found out what the name was about, I was hooked.
I am named after the Shepherds on my grandfathers side and The Rogersons on my grandmothers side.

I know the Shepherd family were in Fife in around the 1500's, but I can't remember where the Rogersons were.
I am looking into tartans, oddly enough. I think the Shepherds would have had the Northumbrian Plaid a small, tight black and white, but I have no idea about the Rogersons.
I am hoping someone might come up with a new bit of information for me.
    Fingers crossed, eh?

    Roger

"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

A warm Scottish welcome from middle England.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!
