Here on Jones St. wondering: What are you Jonesing For?

    Hello,

A few weeks ago (has it really only been a few weeks? ), after much inner debate I ordered a 5 yard knife pleated 16 oz. Galbraith Ancient tartan kilt from Matt Newsome. I still have most of the summer to wait for it. In addition I am waiting for the last bidder to pay up on some items I sold on ebay so I can finally buy one of David's Freelander Sporrans (which I have been looking at since joining X Marks). Lastly, I'm only a day or two away from getting my X-Marks kilt pin. I finally understand what it means to be "jonesing".

Thought it might be nice to have a thread where people could share their own jonesings. So come over here and sit down with me on the curb of Jones St. and Kilt Ave.

So, what are you jonesing for?

    Cheers

I'm not jonesing for anything at the moment. I do however have my eye on a USAK semi-trad in the Clark Tartan.
Armageddon was yesterday. Today we have real problem.

A navy Freedom Kilt from Steve. Once I add this one to my collection, I'll have a contemporary/casual kilt in every color that I have contemporary/casual trousers: black, olive, khaki, navy. Three weeks ago, Steve forecast a 2-3 week ETA for me, but I know that his world has been full of change lately, and it will get here when it's good and ready to be here. So, I'm being patient, but every day that I drive home from work, I get a little pang of excitement as I pull up over the hill to see my front porch, hoping to see a package.

I thought a little retail therapy this weekend would cure the jonesing, but, no...

    Let's see -
Waiting for Locharron to finish weaving the Sackett family tartan, and deliver it to Matt Newsome (another 3-7 weeks, give or take).
Waiting for Matt to create the first Sackett tartan kilt.
Waiting for Rob (Canuck)'s supplier to deliver some undyed hemp fabric (at least a couple of weeks).
Waiting for Rob to make the first natural hemp RKilt for me (when his schedule allows).
And, it all that wasn't enough, I keep having the urge to make my own solid color neo-traditional kilt, so I'm waiting for a free weekend to head down to PA and a fabric store (about two weeks).
    That about covers it.
I am easily moved for sympathy for dogs, far more so than for humans, because dogs do not understand. There is no way to explain that you will return, that the vet will make it all better, that they cannot go shooting today because that is not what today is about. They cannot work out that their misery is finite and will some time end, and so their misery is magnified.

A Red Scott Modern in honor of my mother's maternal clan from Kathy Lare, hand sewn from 16 oz strome from Lochcarron....!!

Four (4) USA Kilts casuals to wear to work this summer.

To see my lady this weekend and have her measure me for one of Freedom Kilts Dress Model Kilts in maroon....then I'll jones for the kilt.

And for the Highland Games to open in Flagstaff, AZ this Saturday so I can PERSONALLY buy anything I can both afford and think I need from the vendors with NO JONESING at all!

Retail therapy is the answer to all my problems.

Well here's a modest one for you: 1 pair of navy kilt hose from Brewins!

Should go well with the Cameron of Erracht tartan and my new navy cord jeans jacket.

Well, having just picked up a pair of hose for myself and a sash brooch for Debby at Grandfather Mtn., I'd probably get a severe lecture if I order anything else just now…

Not only do customers jones, but Kiltmakers do too!

Jonesing for material for my OWN future kilts:

material for a "Granite City" 5 yard wool (black and grey tartan.. very slick)
Material for a Manx Hunting 5 yard wool
Material for a Ferguson Mod 5 yard wool
Custom woven material for a Muted MacEwen 8 yarder with Fly plaid.

Kelly's Jonesing for custom woven material for a NEW Stewart tartan (unofficial...for now) that she has wanted for a LONG time.
