heres why that wont work

so as ive posted and hopefully someone read for the first time my family is forced to see me kilted all at once at my brothers wedding reception ... 10 months after the wedding ... damn marines and their kiss and ships. the first time i showed my brother a kilt in our tartan i wanted it was a box pleat to the red. he asks me am i going to wear a buchanan pleated to the red to his reception. i laughed said no and then explained why. there has only been one buchanan box pleat to the red ive ever seen and its about 400 dollars ... not to mention id have to cut ahead of half of you in line since it was done by none other than master mac newsome. (this btw was months before i found xmarks and what a nice guy matt is) his day is june 5th i couldnt get one now if i ordered it last week ... not to mention the funds ... oh well ill wear what i want and dream of that lovely variation another day ... btw matt ... any idea if the owner of that is an xmarker?

Lady Chrystel does a double box pleat in just about whatever tartan you might want, and my understanding is that her wait list is nowhere near as long as Matt's. Might try her, or other kiltmakers on the forum.

Lady Chrystel is a good idea. You can PM Ancienne Alliance or go to the web link on one of his posts.

If you're not dug in on the box pleat think USA Kilts has Buchanan in polyviscose.

getting a kilt is not the prob i was just saying the one he saw and thought id buy was a newsome and that is a wait ... im still going in a buchanan just not a box to the red ... lady chrystel is a good option but still with the economy being what it is ... ill probably call jerry ... hes the man for my wallet .. and with less jones than an addict in the evidence locker

I wear the Buchanan because my Mother's maiden name is Morris (my first name) which was originally MacMorris (or MacMaurice) and is a Buchanan sept. It's such an unusual and unique tartan that I think it should always be pleated to the sett
