Highland Culture - TV Show
Not sure this is the best place to let you know about this (maybe needs to be moved?) - and I'm not entirely sure some of you non UK X-Markers would even be able to view it? Hope so!!! Worth a try! Believe me!
There is a lovely little show about the Scottish Highlands and its history. From early Clan days to Bonny Price Charlie to the Clearances... lovely scenery, great kilts, sad stories, heroic stories, claymores and targes, forts and traditions. Lovely show - 5 or 6 episodes (20 minutes each)
If you can see them - here they are:
http://video.stv.tv/bc/Scotland+on+T...mes-highlands/
Episode 1 - about Loch Ness, Great Kilts and how to wear one
Episode 4 is about the Clearances and the banning of wearing plaid, bearing arms and playing the pipes!
Episode 3 about Culloden
Episode 5 is more on the sad stories of the Clearances...

Seems to work just fine.
I'm just into the first episode, but it looks promising.
Thanks for sharing!
(Mods: Maybe better in the "Kilts in the Media" section?)

I'll vouch for it. It's a cracking series. I watched it on the Tele. We get STV where I work (Aberdeen) and it's also been on the History Channel. Highly recommended.
Best Regards John

Cool!
I'm glad its working then!
Mods - do with this post what you will! Just make sure plently of folks get the chance to see the show - I'm guessing the large contingent of people with Scottish ancestory would be interested in the 'roots' stuff - not to mention everyone else seeing a bit more of Bonny Scotland....
English Bloke - your up late (look who's talking!) I'm off to bed. Been up late on the new kilt..... I've stichted the front side of my top band tonight - so only got wrong side to go, pressing, buckles and lining - then I'll post some piccies and let everyone laugh at my stitching...
