Holiday
Hi all
Just back from 3 weeks in USA wearing kilt all the time thought I would tell of my experiences .Glasgow airport scanner beeps Security guy says its your buckles oan ye go !compliments from stewardesses on plane compliments at Heathrow airport stewardess liked man in kilt wished more men wore them L A Airport thought Iwas going to have to take kilt off! Security guy certainly found out what I wasnt wearing underneath ! I asked him if he got to feel ladies too! We visited Grand Canyon Death Valley Hoover Dam Las Vegas Yosemity Park Sequoia Park Pebble Beach Tractor show at Tulare Tractor and Truck museum at Woodlands and the best Highland Games I have ever attended at Sacramento . Everywhere the hospitality was outstanding and never a bad comment . One amusing incident was in a little town up in Siera Nevada went into a bar on Saturday night very busy conversation stopped when we went in the door! went up to the bar and ordered 2 beers and before they were poured I was surrounded by three ladies wanting to know all about the kilt and the bar returned to normal ! just shows that wearing a kilt in the USA is no big deal some of the sights at the Highland Games were something else shorts hanging down below kilts kilts down near ankles kilts made of all types of fabric people seemed to be genuinly interested in the kilt and its origins ,I only got asked the question once from three lovely ladies my usual reply that is for me to know and for you to find out produced gales of laughter and a visit from one of the ladies later to find out which she did !!!All in all we enjoyed every minute of our stay

Now THAT'S the way to roll! Guess it goes to show that not all us Americans are uncivilized. I've got a vacation coming up myself and plan to take a couple of kilts with me myself just for those special visits to the pub.
