    Hope for the Future

So here I am sitting at the computer surfing xmarks, and my daughter comes home for lunch with a friend. Anyway the first thing young Cody says is:
    "Cool Kilt, are you Scottish?"
I explain to the young lad that I was born here, in Canada but my mom and dad both came from Scotland. We had a good little chat about the kilt in general, than he says that his family is from Ireland originally, and that they will be going next year on vacation, and he would like to have wear a kilt when they go.
I am sure he will be saying something about me to his friends at school, but he really made my day, and gave me some hope for the future.

You know the youth of today always surprise me, I work in a school and when I first started to wear my kilts to school there were a few that giggled when I would go down the hall. Now since I went to one class and talked about kiltmaking and kilt wearing there seems to be a few that have parents that own kilts wear them to school one student inparticular wore his dadas Lennox tartan to his exam. I asked him why he wore his kilt he merely mentioned that he thought if I could why one why couldn't he plus he said he looked good so Whatever reasons youth have they are starting to wear kilts more.

That is cool! One hopes that he follows through on his desire and you have a chance to show him the freedom from trousers!
