Hot Topic is now carrying kilts

So I had gone to the local hot topic to get a couple new shirts and whatever else struck my fancy. . . and well there in the guys stuff is what they are calling a kilt. . . it's kinda punkish looking, but i just laughed at this. .. . . isn't there another thread that had someone asking if Wal-mart started carrying kilts if anyone would buy them

It says that it's 24 inches long. That's the same length as a Stillwater. It look a little rediculous... but if it gets more people wearing kilts, then I'm all for it.

I reluctantly agree with Nighthawk. I would hope the transition stage from the ridiculous to a decent kilt would be as short as possible.

I note the illustration shows it worn over tight trousers. However if it gets guys started wearing kilts, then they decide its too hot for the trousers under the kilt, then they move into a more upmarket kilt, this is all to the good.

Wondering whats with the zipper on the the side, and it looks as though it zips up toward the top to open. How could that work.
Anyone notice the pockets on each side.
Looks to much like a skirt thats had a few gadgits added to make it appear masculine.
Would anyone really want this to catch on with younger crowd?

Sadly, it looks better than many of the kilts I saw at the ren fest. Of course, with luck, the guy wearing it will run into a guy wearing a real kilt, and get schooled on the real way to wear it.

I think I know what the zipper is for, i think it means it doesn't have a real apron. Though the brand is known for flashy things. I have debated getting a pair of their pants for when I go to the amusement park because of the pockets.

I found a pic online of a guy in a tripp kilt, not as bad looking as HT's pic. http://kiltfans.tribe.net/photos/781...a-7a682c05b431 http://kiltfans.tribe.net/photos/e44...1-7657ad86fdae http://kiltfans.tribe.net/photos/4b7...7-1d1714164c66

I do think they look a little long, but they don't look all that bad in those pics.

These kilts are very popular with the goth/industrial/fetish crowd.
