How do you guys do it?
So I decided I needed a kilt.
Decided on tartan and material.
I also decided who to order from.
Balanced all the factors like bills, hobbies, etc. and decided when to place my order.
Here I am, three days out from even placing my order and I'm getting a jones about ordering the kilt. I'm going to be a wreck when I'm actually waiting on a kilt! Don't know how you all retain your sanity.
Approx. 72 hours until I call Rocky!
P.S., it's going to be a MacKay Modern in 16oz wool pleated to the set.
I've already got hose, flashes, kilt pin, sporran, chain, belt, buckle, glen and cap badge in my possession. Waiting on a sgian to be shipped as it was out of stock. So far I have managed to order everything from sponsors here on XMTS. We'll see if that can be arranged for the Argyll jacket, too.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

How do I cope? I have hobbies that take my mind off of it. Good choice on tartan, and kiltmaker by the way!

How do I cope? In one word badly!
I sent my fabric off to Lady chrystel last month and the Jones is worse every day, with my work and hobbies that plus I've read several very large books to try to keep my mind off it and I’m still waiting (im)patiently.
Good luck with your Jones.

Knitting is very soothing.

You could make yourself a scarf whilst you're waiting - or maybe Argyle hose if you need to really concentrate.
Otherwise it will the pacing and the cloud watching and the sighing - you might even pine so much the kilt will not fit when it arrives - which would be too dreadful.

ONLY way to cope with the kilt jones is to order more kilts or accessories so something is coming in during the wait...

I cope by obsessively checking my email for status updates ;)

I cope with the jones by looking for sgians, belts, sporrans, kilt hose and other esoteric kilt-related stuff.
