    how far up...

Just wondering, when wearing kilt socks and flashes, how high up the leg should the socks go? The bottom of the knee or a few inches below the knee?

I believe the rule of thumb is four fingers from the bottom of the knee.

I usually wear mine at 1.5" to 2" below the knee. Not sure if this is "standard" but it is typical of what I've seen over the years.

I would go for 3 fingers below.

    Here's and e-how article.

Yep, that is how I wear mine.

In the cold weather I wear my hose higher than when the weather is hot. I don't have any "rule" that I follow but I really don't like the look of the kilt and the hose meeting in the middle, so to speak. I see that a lot at highland games.

I've always heard the 3 or 4 fingers rule. I agree that it looks bad if they're too high up.

As a man with large calves, I let that determine where the top of my hose goes. I'm not about to tourniquet my leg for some rule of fashion.

I've followed the three finger rule, myself.
