Question How to wrap the great kilt?

Well, here is another one...does anyone know of any videos or at the very least pictured instructions on wrapping a great kilt? I was offered a fantastic deal on 7 yards of 60" wide 13oz tartan and I want to wear it as a great kilt. I have found a few sites with instructions that are pretty good but they are written only, no pics.

Thanks for the link; I've added it to my favorites. I found a video tape for sale for $8 at "Thee Dragon Laire"; but, I'm sure there is suffecient information out there, at no charge, that will be helpfull.

I'd cut off at least 2 yards of that 7 and use it for something else! 4.5 - 5 yds is generally plenty for a belted plaid....

I'm 6'4" and 250 lbs...do you still think that 4½ to 5 yards is enough?

I wouldn't cut off the material until you try it out, but it all depends on how much you pleat it.

This got me to thinking about adding a great kilt to my small collection.

Then I found out how much the fabric was. Yow. The downside to Poly Viscose is you get spoiled by the inexpensive nature of the fabric and it makes it very hard indeed to swallow the price of decent wool.
