I also know how you feel, I bought my first kilts in a month, now Riverkilt has his fat kilts, or is it his skinny kilts on sale.

Good luck, hope it all works out well.
BTW, feeling dumb is an art form... you might try flogging for self-punnishment too.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Can you not just call (you're talking about USAK right?) and add the flashes? I guess I'm no comprende....

I already went from ordering 1 kilt to: 1 semi trad, 1 casual, 2 kilt hose, and 1 pair of flashes.
I guess I will have to either chance bodily harm and order them, or play it safe and not have flashes for a while.
For your hose or from the wife?

Avoid the killing blow
The alternative to suffering at the hands of the spouse, might possibly be a visit to ye local fabric shoppe. I suggest SEARCH the D.I.Y. forum for the how to make your own flashes. For very little expenditure, coordinated solid colour flashes can be had. I have used denim and heavy cotton twill. Most of the material has come out of the remnants bin for cheap. a stiffening lining material, some elastic, ( the waistband off of discarded underwear) some velcro, fabric glue, and scissors. If you wish some binding tape needle and thread can finish them off properly. I made four different coloured sets while in jones mode for my USAK American Heritage. I do own three sewing machines. I also have constructed three kilts from scratch thus far. I am not a kiltmaker yet, but am practicing.
Hint--- If ye spouse likes to sew or do crafts things, invite her along to a Joanns or similar venue for both of you to be creative together. She might warm to helping you.
