Talking I went and did it....

I just pulled the trigger on 4 meters of Isle Of Skye in Marton Mills PV. My intent is to render it into a respectable kilt as guided by The Art of Kiltmaking. This will be kilt #4 but the first kand sewn. Nervous doesn't even begin to describe me right now.

Good for you, Moski. Just take your time and visualise each step before you make it. Don't hesitate to rip out the stitches if you're not perfectly happy. We're also here if you want to run things by us. Most importantly, have fun!

That's 4th kilt owned. Amerikilt, SWK heavy, and an X-kilt I made. (20 yarder). I've loved IOS since I first saw it and its always been in my top five wanted. This one will be the gateway to Rocky's next offer on Pennsylvania tartan yardage....hopefully.

Tartan finally arrived after four months. About two months ago they sent the wrong tartan. Some red and green MacSanta, some "R" name. Sent it back. Got home today, 4 months and one day later I have my IOS in hand. At this point it's just relief and happiness that I have "my precious" to work with now.

P.S. I'm not even sure I got my 10% of as a forum member, whatev....

The IOS is lovely tartan and it's lovely to work with with lots of different pleating options as well.
Marton Mills doesn't offer a discount, so did you get it through Scotweb instead?
