    An idea for Kilt Hose.

So, I have been talking with Diane about having her make me another pair of Kilt Hose and I found something I like.
You see, she was knitting some entrelac socks for a friend and while I have seen her make Kilt Hose with entrelac in the cuff I've never seen them in the main body.
This is what entrelac socks look like.

I was thinking of having solid colour hose with entrelac as the body and maybe two tone entrelac as the cuff or a cabled cuff.
I just think the sort of basket weave look on the hose would be really nice.
    What do you think?

If the colours were right it could work well.

I think it would look smashing!

I also think you must be dearly loved by Diane. Entrelac is a lot of work for a pair of grown-up sized hose.

You might consider a slightly less pink colour, though

Yup, can the pink, unless you are doing a Susan G Komen Breast Cancer ceilidh.

Seriously, I like the pattern and thik it would look great either all solid, solid body with bicolor top turnover, or even the whole body and top bicolor. Matt Newsome has some kilt hose kind of like that in some of his pictures (check out the hose he is wearing in the "show me your tweed" thread photos----last photo post 14, then first and last photos post 15):

Herming, I do indeed adore Arlen. However, I'm kind of an entrelac addict. It's a lot of fun to knit, and I'd much rather do entrelac than argyle!

    Oh, and thank you ForresterModern!

You are most welcome. If you are ever looking for feet to model your wares give me a buzz. I like the look, and have several kilts which could do with a little unique hose accessorizing, in lieu of the boring standard mono-color simple or patternless standard kilt hose.

I think they'd be classic yet funky. I'd dig getting my hands on a pair of entrelac kilt hose.

I think that a solid colour hose body with perhapse a bi-coloured cuff would be very sharp looking. Please show us pictures when they get finished.

Yes - multicolour tops on plain hose could be a bit of a shock but texture, and matching texture to boot, would be neat.

I have wondered about shaping entrelac -such as for a sleeve, by gradually reducing the size of the 'squares' by reducing the number of stitches.

In the past I have used reducing needle size to shape fluffy mohair yarn knitting, but for a hard yarn such as is used for socks that would not be so successful.

I just started a sock on no 14 (2mm) needles and had to pull it out and restart on no 13 (2.25mm) as the worsted spun yarn was too thick for the finer needles.
