If the Director wants a kilt, she gets a kilt..

According to both my boss and the microscope facility director, at the service centers Directors Meeting yesterday, the Big Boss Lady said, a couple of times, that she thought our "help desk available times" from 3:00 - 5:00 on the various floors was great, and she really liked it when I showed up in a kilt.

We started up the "open hours, come by and we'll help you Help Desk" in answer to her concern that the Computational Services group was intimidating and hard to find. It's been about 8 months that I've been hoisting my rumpus out of my office chair Wed, Thurs, Fri and getting out to be available on the various floors of the building. People may not know my name, but they sure know who "the Kilt Guy" is. The "Kilt Guy" helps with computers! So in fact my kilt-wearing is GOOD for my job, as it help people recognize who I am.

....and if the Boss Lady Director likes it when I show up in a kilt, then, ALL RIGHT!
