We went to a wedding last Sat of a very close friend. I decided not to wear my Cilt. Simply because I do not have all the neccesary accessories to go with it to pull it off off at such an important function. The bride knew I might or might not wear it ... but then she has seen me in my Cilt thousands of times now. However, I was constantly asked most of the day by all our friends who were there, why I wasnt wearing my Cilt. Many of them 'told me off' for not doing so.
It would have been easier just to have worn my Cilt and blended in.
Doh.. there no winning .. lol

Even on holiday, one can have the same effect. I spent a wee time at an island resort near here with a few rellies. I walked the beach in the morning to exercise and obtain the daily broadsheet. One morning, instead of the kilt, I went in bathing costume, hoping to test the water on the way. All but one person asked me "where is the kilt?"

I have the same problem around town. I get more reactions to me NOT wearing one than I do when I'm in one. Took a long time to train the locals this well!
