Glasgow, to be precise. And it's a biz-trip, so it's a freebie! Anybody know how long a drive it is to Edinbough (spl?)?. Last time I did the ride I was rather hung over and slept most of the way. I plan to visit Kinloch Anderson Saturday for some Kilting goodies (Montrose or Kenmore jacket and a pair of buckle shoes to go with it). Any suggestions for other things to do?

As far as I remember it isn't that long of a drive at all.

2 1/2 hours I believe. You can take the Train too I think.

Glasgow city centre to Edinburgh city centre is approx 45 miles - dual carriageway/motorway most of the route.

Kinloch Anderson are actually in Leith, on the outskirts of Edinburgh. HMY "Britannia" is berthed just across from their address (Commercial Street/Dock Street) - that might be worth a visit. Every time I go to Edinburgh I plan on visiting her, but never seem to get much further than the city centre!!

The "HMY Britannia" is a must see, if you are into ships and all. I was just there in November and I was very, very pleased that I took the time to go for the tour on the Britannia.
As for Edinburgh, a very fine time of year to be sight seeing there, long days and lots of beautiful ale's to drink! A pub on every corner almost, so you won't have to go far to quench your thirst.

Oh ya, do take the time to hike up Arthur's seat, the view is very nice and it is a good way to sweat some of the booze out from the night before. It take about a half hour to hike up,(even when hung-over). So enjoy!

It was OK. I was surprised at how tatty it was. Apparently Queen Mary and the Queen Mother were sticklers for thrift and refused to replace anything.

I was disappointed at not being able to use the Queens bathroom.
