Illinois St. Andrews & my newest buy

I wanted to post pics of my newest buy, my first wool kilt, and a pic from the place where I got it. I went to the Chicago Highland Games in Oak Brook today, and found a vendor selling a Black Watch ex-rental for $25 in my size. I couldn't pass it up! I also got some green hose and black flashes there, which actually cost me more than the kilt.

The vendor was the Celtic Croft (http://www.kilts-n-stuff.com - the June featured vendor). The kilt was listed in poor condition, but inspection showed that it was in good shape-a closer look let me know that the sewing on the pleats was loose, but still a bargain for the price. I don't know if the wool is 13 oz. or 11 oz. seeing as I have very little experience with wool.

Here's the kilt, new hose and flashes:

And here are Xmarkers:

Congratulations on the new kilt, nice to have wool isn't it? As it is a rental kilt I would think it was either 13oz or 16oz wool. Nonetheless you wear it well. So who is who in the group photo?

By the way BrewBoy also got one of his law associates kilted at the games. He also found a great deal on argyll hose, that were promply gobbled up by some of us.

It looks good on you. And you can be proud not only of the kilt but of the great price for which you purchased it.

Rob, it was great t o meet you. I also got a kick out of helping you fit Haj for a kilt. Did he end up ordering one? You are a true ambassador for the kilted nation.

Looks like a good time in both threads! I'd fight Chicago (& burb) traffic for that.

To be fair, beloitpiper was the one who told me about it.
