    I'm "chill" ????

So I'm in Fry's electronics (sort of the Wal Mart of computer stores) hanging around the bathroom waiting for the Mrs. to emerge so we can look at the kids software section. One of the sales guys comes roaring up to me and proceeded to tell me that:

    1. The kilt was chill.
    2. I was chill.
    3. Did I get any abuse for wearing it? No? That's chill.

Well, after all, it IS winter.

Mind you, this is after a run to Toys 'R Us, which was chock-ablock with Hispanic families and a LOT of guys who gave me sideways looks. I just stared back at lots of people, right in the eyes, friendly-like with a big smile and nobody said a word.

Chill is actually old news, on the way out. Unfortunately Paris Hilton has now made "Thats hot" the new buzzword. Ugh.
.. the kilt had concealed a blaster strapped to one thigh and a knife to the other. He was aware of the present gentle customs against personal weapons, but he felt naked without them. Such customs were nonsense anyhow, foolishment from old women - there was no such thing as "dangerous weapons," only dangerous people.

I've heard that term a lot, but then, I have teenage kids, and I am in college with all the young whippersnappers that generate the slang these days. ;)
