    It's about time!

Well, I'm down to three days till my wedding! That also means that it's three days till I"M KILTED!

I've waited most of my life for the right girl and I'm about to marry her, so I guess it's not to bad to have waited about 2.5 months to finaly wear my kilt..

Have a great wedding. Indulge yourself shamelessly, ditto and that goes twice over for your lady. Your wedding and the one or two days surrounding it are one of those rare times when it's OK to just revel in being the complete and total center of attention.

...And have blast wearing your kilt. Don't put it inthe closet forever after the ceremony, either!

We were married in an outdoor ceremony last September, and the evening before was one of the worst rain storms I have ever seen (and I'm in Seattle). The next morning the sun shone and the barometer was looking like our friend. Nerves asside, the day couldn't have been any better. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: "Don't sweat the small stuff!" and try to keep her from worrying. It all works out and nothing can be perfect. Just have a good time, and keep away from the booze until after the ceremony

    Shalom,

    George

Wow..three days, I have just 38 days and I am getting nervous, sometimes it seems like it is never going to come and others days it seems like it is right around the corner. But three days, man o man. So are doing the formal attire (Prince Charlie and the like) or less formal?

I hope you have a wonderful time and may you and your wife live a long and joyous life together.

Son, someday you will make a girl very happy for a short period of time. Then she'll leave you and be with new men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men wear kilts.

    wedding...

    Okay, another wedding story:

Page & I were married in September 2002; we had a traditional Scottish wedding at our parish. One of our piper friends led us out of the church and later, into the reception, and my parents presented Page with a sash to welcome her to the "clan". We had about 12 gents in kilts there, and Scottish country dancing at the reception, as well as a Scottish singer (http://www.alexsutherland.com) who is a friend of ours in St. Louis who played. Heck, we even had an all-girl drum & bugle corps, dressed in highland "kit" march into the reception hall at one point -- they were playing at a high school reunion in the hotel, and a buddy of mine coerced them into "crashing" our reception -- we even had folks from other events "crashing" our reception because they heard pipe music!

The only thing we had go wrong was that our cake didn't show up -- the bakery claimed the order was lost and didn't even offer to deliver the replacement cake -- the bell captain had to pick it up, and the hotel staff decorated it. Page handled it like a trooper, though, saying "it's only flour & water"!

"Don't sweat the small stuff" is the best advice I can give, and relax and enjoy the day -- it will go by so fast that it will be over before you know it.

Congratulations to you and your lovely bride -- long life, peace and happiness to you both.

    Slainte!

    Thank you all so much!

I'm a little nervous/excited, but no cold feet!

I will be wearing the full Prince Charlie.

At the end of the ceremony I will place a sash of the Murray tartan on her before we walk back down the isle. At that point she's a Murray!

I will be wearing it twice right off the bat... Married on the 4th and the reception is the 19th back home for those that could not make it to Las Vegas..

No dust will settle on my kilt! I don't know about going full time just yet, I will have it as an option...
