It's Finally Happened
I was wondering how long it would take, before anyone starting asking questions or making false accusations, about me wearing my kilt. Well, I got a phone call from a friend, who informed me that it's circling around at church that I'm a cross dresser and a transvestite.......that being the only reason why a man would be wearing a " Skirt ". I told him, if anyone else asks him about it, to tell that person to come to me and I'll set them straight.
But, it's not my problem what anyone else thinks, it's their problem. And I will continue to wear my kilt. I just might have to tell them myself, that it's not very Christian like to be making false accusations about someone, about something, they no nothing about.

Just ask them if they think Jesus wore pants...
I've gotten some skirt comments but I find it's best just to shrug it off...

Even though you might be just a bit upset, shrug it off with humor! That always gets them.
Hmm...cross dresser? I wonder if women who wear pants could be considered cross dressers?

As a Christian myself I'd have to agree

If members of a church are casting stones, it just goes to show that not all hipocrites are outside the church.
Makes me sad to think that this world has strayed so far from the almighty.

I'm not religious, but we used to go to church when my wife went through her religious phase. The vicar himself wore earrings, and one Xmas he delivered the sermon wearing a pair of earrings that looked like Xmas baubles, which were given to him by a lady in the congregation. Then, of course, he had to go and take a trip to Scotland, and came back with a kilt. Even with a kilt and earrings no-one ever accused him of being a cross-dresser. Nor should they have done. It's quite uncalled for.
The more astute of you will have worked out that we attended an anglican church, not a catholic one. My grandfather was a catholic, but my background is mixed, as they say in places where such things matter.

Naw, let the tongues wag, then show up at a church function dressed to the nines. Watch all the jaws drop as you get the complements from the ladies.
Better yet, if it is a dance they'll be the wallflowers while your card is full (get permission from the wife first! Mine hates to dance, I love to, but no matter who I dance with I go home with her).
Cheers!

Unfortunately, it's far more enjoyable to spend time pointing out specks in others' eyes than it is removing the planks from our own...
None of the churches where I've worn my kilt have gone down that path, so I am truly sorry that the one where you attend has. I commend you for not backing down from your preferences, and some of the responses and anecdotes offered in the above posts are more than apt, and should be remembered for future reference.

LOL! I marry people wearing my kilt! Nobody has accused me of being a crossdresser! Crazy, flamboyent over the top? Guilty, crossdresser? I look lousy in a shift! And anything over a 3" heel makes my calfs ache!
