It's Hot Out There! (Couple of Kilt Observations)

Well....just.....harumph. Dry heat indeed...


Two words....AIR CONDITIONING!

In my humble opinion, A/C is part of the problem. Someone once asked Barry Goldwater what it was like to live in Arizona before A/C, and he simply replied, "We didn't know any better." People have managed to survive in AZ for many years before A/C, with ollas, swamp coolers, soaked bed-sheets and oscillating fans, etc.

Nowadays, we rush from our air-conditioned cars to our air-conditioned offices, homes, etc. -- it's no wonder we can "stand the heat".

Mind you, I'm not giving up my a/c anytime soon, just waxing philosophical...

I'm in agreement. At the movie theatre where I work, people complain that 72 F is too hot when they are sitting still watching a movie

They have conditioned themselves to the cold blasts of refrigerated air and are not use to to real temperatures. Although in high humidity regions I must say AC is nice to have.

Spot on, Rob. I'll take the desert heat any day over humidity. At least I can breathe and see -- all this green makes me claustrophobic!
