I've never heard comments like this when wearing pants...

I was at a thrift store a couple of days ago with my son. After browsing a bit, I told him that it was time to go (he was reading a used book). As he told me about the book, two young women came up to us and one said "Excuse me, I just wanted to tell you that you rock that.", as she pointed to my kilt. No one's ever told me that I "rock" a pair of pants. Ah, the power of the kilt.

The only comment I've heard is "Nice pants." (Dockers, anyone?) I think Your comment was much cooler.

I must say, I wasn't prepared mentally for her comment - it took me by surprise. Made my day, though.

It's interesting when I get comments like that. I had a lady come up to me before haloween and say "I was going to come over here and tell you that I love your costume, but when I got here, I realized that it looks too natural on you. It looks great!" These are the comments that pants just can't get... Gotta love it, eh?

    Great story Don!

I had on the full kit for St. Andrew's day last year and had more than one lady come up to me on the Metro and compliment the kilt.

Didn't see any gents in pants drawing in the ladies like that...

Got another nice one today - walking back to my office after lunch, a young lass rode by on her bike, turned and said "I love your kilt" as she went by. Unexpected, very nice, and left a big smile on my face.

I'm never quite sure what to say in those situations, though. I usually just say "Thanks!"
