jonesin' yet again
What are you people doing to me?....I haven't even gotten my new USAK Philabeg and I have already ordered a black Amerikilt. The poor old Sportkilt may not get worn again except for menial tasks around the house and maybe hiking. I am already pushing the overtime to get another kilt...now I just have to decide if my jones can handle a 2 month wait on a "tank" or a box pleated kilt from Mr. Newsome, or if I will just break down and order a USAK semitraditional instead of waiting until I have all the money stashed away for the"tank". This is a bad , bad , habit......but it feels soooooooo good!

Tank, tank, tank, tank....hold out for it.....you won't be sorry...particularly if you're getting a tartan meaningful to you.
Not sure what Matt's financial arrangements are, or other kiltmakers, but Kathy Lare has a neat deal that lets me affort her tanks - four now...
She starts with half down or so. She uses that to buy the fabric from Scotland, which takes anywhere from a few weeks to a few months depending on my choice.
Then she sews up the kilt. When the kilt is sewn and pressed and ready to ship she lets me know the balance.
So I'm essentially able to buy the tank in two seperate payments spread out a bit. Works well for me.
A tank is well worth the wait.
