    The jonesing is over!

After many months of waiting, my first "real" kilt has arrived. I say real because I already had an acrylic and a PV kilt in my closet, but not an actual wool kilt. My new kilt is a work of art created by our very own Matt Newsome. The tartan is Elliot Ancient. I chose it over the Elliot Modern because I like the color contrast in the Ancient colors better. Matt seemed to agree with this assessment, so that's what I went with. I have to say that Mr. Newsome has earned his reputation for quality kilts. I look forward to many years of service from this fine garment. Thanks, Matt.

    Now, on with the pictures!

The kilt as it was in the box. Basting stitches and all.

Great looking kilt!!! You wear it well. Matt does an awesome job, I think he was working on it the last time I was in Franklin.

Thanks for all the great compliments, guys! When I first ordered the kilt, Matt and I discussed what accessories would look best with this tartan. The brown Lewis hose and lovat blue garter ties were what he recommended, so that's what I went with. I have to say, it's amazing just how much better the Lewis hose are than any other hose I've had. It really is one of those times that you get what you pay for.
