    Jury Duty??

Just got my jury duty questionaire. Seems a kilt would be perfect for all that sitting.

Anyone ever do jury duty kilted? Judge's reactions?

Don't know if I'll get called...appreciate any experiences.

If they ask you about it, act as if it's perfectly normal.

And if they try to excuse you for it, because you're "strange", raise hell.

If it turns out to be a high-profile case, you can bet that the media will tkae notice of you.

Never been called for jury duty since I have been kilted, I do however go to City Council meetings from time to time and do not have any problems.

Each judge runs their courtroom differently, and that may be your only problem if any at all.

Ya may set off the metal detectors anyway, due to the buckles on the kilt... Also, a kilt belt's buckle will definitely set it off... I dropped by the Pierce County, WA courthouse to drop off another payment on my ticket (74 mph in a 60 mph zone), and set off the metal detector, even though I took the sporran and the belt off, then walked in sans those items. Oh well.

Since I wear a kilt everywhere I go, if I were called to jury duty I would be kilted. I got the letter once but last minute I was told I wasn't needed.

I could make an old 'ground pounder' joke here about "FRONT TOWARD ENEMY"....but back to the subject...

    Go kilted...give them a thrill!

You won't get picked. Lawyers stay away from eccentrics. Period.

There have been exceptions. Remember a couple years back when some woman wore her Starfleet Uniform to jury duty? She actually got picked, but the media made such a big deal about it that she eventually got bounced off the jury.

(can't remember if she wore her Phaser...)
