Just had a very nice surprise.

    Hi Guys.
I've just had a very nice surprise off my wife ( not what your thinking haha ) she has just told me that we are heading to Edinburgh on the 16th October for are wedding anniversary. Even better I can order a new kilt and she has told me to get Black Watch in memory of my father. This will be our 47th anniversary REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, have you got any plans for what you will see whilst there? Apologies if I'm already telling you what you're aware of, but as well as the obvious places like the Castle and Holyrood I'd recommend Marie King's close (got down there years ago before it was opened as an attraction), The Museum of Childhood as well as a walk up Arthur's seat on a good day (well a clear one).

Clearly, you married the right girl all those years back. Congratulations!

    Congratulations! 47 years is wonderful.

Also congrats on the new kilt! Black Watch is such a great classic tartan.

Are you going Modern colours, Ancient, Weathered? Pleated to the stripe? It would be nice to see pics once you receive it, if you want to share.

Congratulations! 17 October is 37 years for us. While SWMBO hasn't told me we are headed to the UK, or, to get a proper kilt. She showed her true colors years ago. For a time, we had a road racing Camaro. At times, I hesitated spending the dosh on the Beast. She, always, said to get the parts needed. Few of us find ladies like that.

Congratulations on your anniversary. Hope you have a great time in Edinburgh. I was there a few weeks ago, and can endorse the recommendations to visit Mary King's Close, and Arthur's Seat. (The latter can be very windy, so be careful if kilted!)

    Hi OC.
I'm going for the modern but pleated to the stripe as I think it's more in keeping with what my father would have worn in the regiment. Thank you for the good wishes I've picked a good one would not change her, she has had a lot to put up with at times as I was away form home a lot.

    Hi Allan.
We have nothing planned going to wing it, as we have been to Edinburgh several times before know it better then my home town.
