Just out of interest I thought I would ask the following. With the exception of those who already do and also for reasons of ones employment (dress code/safety factor etc), how many on X Marks would wear their Kilts/Cilts full time if they had the chance or opportunity to do so. I’ll start by saying I would.

First, since I'm a retired "old fart" I could wear kilts all of the time. Secondly, I don't wear them all of the time. Two years ago, I got my first kilts and used them exclusively for festival wear. At the present time, I frequently wear a cheap Sportkilt around home. And, if my wife and I go out to dinner, I make a choice between kilts, jeans or golf slacks. It's just starting to be the kilt a bit more often. One of the problems is that I really only have 3 decent kilts. I've already put in an order with my wife for a black kilt made in the same fashion as my tartaned ones for Christmas. I'm also considering some other casual kilt such as a PK. If I wind up getting more, I'll have to wear them more often in order to justify having more than just a couple for festivals. The good thing is that my wife is totally in favor of my wearing them more often.

Most definitely ! I already wear a kilt all of the time I am not at work ( I work in the legal profession so a kilt at work is not an option) and I am looking forward to the day when I can follow Hamish's fine example and burn all of my trousers.

Well, as a military officer I have to use the uniform. But now the regiment is trying to ban me totally using the kilt. "Not propriate for a soldier". HAHA! They can ban it on garrison area but at freetime too!? Don't think so! :P And also banning it at garrison when I'm in civilian clothes coming to work sounds strange to me... well, we'll see. I'll let you know about the further development...

Obviously, as a member of the military, you have to wear your uniform on duty. Also at official functions they can dictate the manner of dress. But on casual time it seems to me you shoulcd be able to wear what you want, as long as you don't make the military look bad.

I'm already there. I haven't worn pants in a year and a half and have no intention of doing so.

But it is sad, that I had to use today's "holiday" as a way of getting to wear mine to work today. (Also in a law firm environment).

If I had the option I'd wear it alot more, but I don't think I'd wear it to the exclusion of all other garments.
Doesn't work riding motorcycles, frisbee dog competition, etc...
