Just placed an order!
Well gang, I finally pulled the trigger just a few minutes ago; went ahead and ordered a 5-yard 13oz Leatherneck tartan kilt, along with Argyll waistcoat/vest, all from Rocky over at USA Kilts!
Rocky, was a pleasure chatting with you. Sorry I was talking... and talking... and... well, talking...
Anyways, pretty excited about the whole thing! Let the jonesing begin...

I too am very much pleased with Rocky's skill and service. He recently made a Premier kilt for me; it is a thing of beauty and it arrived four weeks early.

Do the language laws in Quebec really require you to hire a mime who doesn't speak French if you hire one who doesn't speak English? Could a mime who doesn't speak either fill both roles at the same time? (Thanks to Calvin Trillin.)

Derek:
I've one of those as well, and a fine kilt it is. However, I notice that the sixteen ounce Leatherneck tartan I picked up is much more vibrant, the colors really "pop" out at you. In comparison, the 13 ounce Rocky stitched up for me seems much more muted.
If you have downloaded BarbT and Matt Newsome's update on box pleated kilts, you can see one of Barbara Tewksbury's box pleated kilts in the 16 ounce Leatherneck (made for a blood brother of mine), which shows the difference.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
