Keeping up with the Joneses (now with review goodness!)

Okay, so we all know that Jerry has mastered wormhole technology in his kilt distribution network and that ordering from Stillwater minimizes the time one spends jonesing. Until now. Seems that Jerry's secret has somehow leaked back to Scotland.

As some of you may know (from another thread), my good wife authorized me to go ahead and order a new kilt, in part because the Japanese yen is so strong right now and it makes sense to take advantage of it while we can.

The other reason is that she thinks the IOS tartan looks just as dope as I do! (Yay, wife! Good taste! ) So, I went ahead and ordered a 6-yard IOS from Marchbrae of Edinburgh. I thought I'd be putting up a jonesing thread in a while... Well, consider this the jones that never was! Colour me tickled! Not only have I received 2 personal (read: not form letter) and detailed answers to my e-mails in the past 24 hours from a Mark Hepworth, who kindly and politely answered all my questions and concerns, but I just got an e-mail from UPS telling me that my new IOS kilt is already Japan-bound. Dude! Wait... what?

The jones that never was. Yes, indeedy, folks. You can rest assured that as soon as I get my IOS, I'll be posting up some photos and giving my impressions and review of this company that (so far) has been outstanding in the way of service and being easy to deal with. Just as a final note, let the XMTS records show that £106 ($150 USD) for a 13 oz wool IOS is cheap as Borscht and there's no reason, quality notwithstanding, that anyone who likes this particular tartan shouldn't be able to have one!

    Jim in Japan signing off!

When it shows up you will have to post pictures to prove it, then McMurdo will probably send you info about the Brotherhood of the IoS, including secret password, handshake, etc...

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Do I get a secret decoder ring too? You know, just like the ones that you could order from the back page of comic books when you were a kid? (Right next to the sea monkeys and X-Ray specs)...

(But not the Little Orphan Annie Ovaltine rings -- Jeez. I'm not THAT old...hehe)

Very nice! Too bad they don't deal with chubby bums the likes of mine...
