No, I do not own 35 kilts!! I just received my tank, Friday, from Wallace Catanach (Waterfall Kilts), and it's his 35th kilt to be made. So, I'm the proud owner of Catanach #35!! 
For those of us fortunate enough to own a Waterfall kilt, we know what a master piece it is...a true work of art. Wally has done a magnificent job on this had stitched wonder. And, he was such a please to do business with....great communication, and a commitment to perfection.
Wally spent a significant amount of time on the phone with me, making sure the measurements were correct, and a host of other pertinent questions.
This project started out with Wally having the material, MacDonagh tartan, woven by D.C. Dalgliesh, in Scotland. It's 8 yards of 16 oz. material that Wally said, "Is the best I have ever worked with."
The pictures do not do it justice. In fact, they look bad IMHO. In person, up close and personal, it's awesome, especially in the sunlight! I was in such a rush to try the kilt on that it's askew in the photos. The main tartan color is very close to bottle, with red, navy, and black stripes.
I got to wear it to a Christening today and it looked pretty sharp, I must say. I received several great comments. I dressed it up with a bottle tie, semi-dress sporran, and a Crail jacket my wife made, with harp buttons. Ah, I know, where are those pics?? I forgot the camera. Again!
If you're looking for a great kilt maker, a passionate one, then give Wallace a consideration.

I think the bottle green hose were a good choice with it. Did he make the matching tartan flashes too?

Very nice.
I like the decision to go with two straps rather than three. It gives a very clean look. Was that your preference or suggested by the maker? Either way a good choice.
I have shared e-mails with Wally and if I can get to my target weight, I hope to have him make a kilt for me.

| | | Joe, the decision to go with two straps was Wally's. I do not even know if he'd consider doing three. I actually like having just two...looks clean, does not pull on the kilt, like three does, and puts less stress on the apron.

That is a very hansom kilt and you have many options for color coordinating with that tartan. Are there any pockets, or is this strictly traditional? I would really like to see a full length shot in focus. Something like 100_1198.jpg but taken 3/4 on your right to show the placement of the buckle.

Wally makes a spectacular kilt and is a great guy to boot. Having seen his workmanship in person I can honestly say he does some quality work. Congrats on a great kilt!
