    Kilt lust

Paul just started a thread entitled, "How Many?" Great thread by the way. So, it inspired me to start this one: what kilt stuff do you lust for? Since I just purchased a tank (currently being made), an IoS 6 yd. kilt, and a SWK standard, I'm not lusting over kilts at the moment. Give me a week!

    Here's my lusting:

    - Brian Boru jacket and vest, or PC jacket and vest
    - very expensive, great looking, dark, dress sporran
    - tweed jacket and vest, either charcoal or lovat green
    - great looking and feeling hose, either argyll or diced
    - more colored hose
    - expensive ghillies
    - black caubeen
    - beige colored tam
    - brown day sporran, or semidress
    - day sgian dubh
    - oh, here comes the kilt thing...saffron
    - another kilt thing......Ireland's National
    - another.......

    OK, I better stop.

I'm relatively satisfied with most of the stuff I already have...which doesn't mean I don't have a "wants" list:

    1 USAK Semi-Trad...still can't decide what tartan

Nice brown belt and a nice brown leather sporran...know what kind of sporran; just a matter of timing.

Nice tweed day jacket and vest.

I suppose that I could upgrade on my dress sporran...it's a "bargain bunny" model but, while I'm certainly not one of your namby pamby's about hunting or trapping, I just can't figure out what kind of fur would be nice but not over the top.

    Best

Please do not get me started, also. Oh well - you already have!
I just had to buy myself a new pair of brogues and I got measured for a new kilt last week. I also managed to make myself a very nice fly plaid.
In addition to this I'm currently looking for:

-a nice brooch for my plaid
-Argyll hose to match my SNP kilt
    -a new dress sgain dubh
    -a staghorn sgain dubh
-a black Wallace jacket & waistcoat
-a dark green tweed jacket & waistcoat
    -an inexpensive dirk
-country hose to match my Robertson Ancient
-Argyll/tartan hose tops to match my Fraser Ancient
    -side-buckle brogues
-as I've always wanted - a McInally tartan kilt
-and of course, ties to match my new kilts!

Why did you have to start this thread?! You just cost me £1.5k!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

    mmmmmmmmmmm,
Green Brian Boru jacket & waist coat or PC & waist coat
    Kilt in MacBeth "Heirloom" collection
Some St Andrews Buttons for a conversion
    a pair of Glenfinnan shoes
That's about it for lust. The "like to have" list would be longer

As that I am just getting started in the kilted world, and still awaiting the arrival of my first a Stillwater black and the goodies to go with it (black sporran, belt/buckle, and a Sgian Dubh) I know it doesn't sound like much but I'm a state employee and on a limited budget so it's what I can do right now. I'm impatient as all get out. One day I would like to get a Graham tartan and a Masonic Kilt but for the time being I'll live with what I have...or will have in a couple of days.

Not to feed your addiction, but, you should check out this sporran, especially with your avatar:

I recently acquired one after a few months of longing for it....PLUS Donnie is a super nice guy and he made sporrans for the US Naval Academy pipe band because they were light on funds and otherwise would have had to get low quality sporrans. This sporran is hand made and it's really gorgeous.

hmmmm I know I can go overboard with the wish list..but my short list:

a Kilkenny kilt jacket it would be interesting to get it in a charcoal tweed, but I figure Black Barethea is the best I should get.
a few vests, including a canvas, a red, a green, and tweed.
a handmade sgian dubh, done in the manner a ghillie would have carried, back in the day.
    brogues
a goat hair sporran, made by Josh.
a leather SWK sporran in brown
a Crommach, i would love to have a rams horn, but I would be satisfied with a simple style.
