    Kilt pin "code"?

I was in the bank on the weekend (wearing my USAK McLean casual; thanks again Riverkilt ), and I was approached by an older lady, who had a tartan shawl around her shoulders; while we were waiting, she mentioned that she had heard that there's a kilt pin "code", that is supposed to signify if you're "available" or not, but she didn't go into any detail about it. The only kilt pin I normally wear is a magnetic maple leaf clasp (to avoid putting holes in my kilts), but I said that I hadn't heard anything about a "code"; is there such a thing, or was I just being hit on?

I had a friend who once dated a girl who went to a private school where they had to wear uniforms. There was a "pin code" there. They were the safety pin type kilt pins on their kilt skirts. A girl wore it with the head up or down, I can't remember which way meant they were seeing someone.
That is the only "pin code" I know of.

What happens if you don't wear a kilt pin?
What happens if you wear it SIDEWAYS?
What happens if you wear it on the wrong side of the apron?

I've never heard of the "kilt pin code".

I've never heard of a kilt pin code. I've heard of the tails of the balmoral/glengarry meaning something.

Another kilt dress code thing that should be enforced by the 'kilt police'.

I would think a "code" would be difficult to follow given that there are so many different types of kilt pins and wearing preferences. For instance, I noticed that Ron wears his at a 45 degree angle and it looks cool - I'm going to starting wearing mine this way too.
