A Kilt seller ?
Has anybody here done business with a company by the name of the Scotland Yard. They are located in Russellville, KY. I have a friend who has dealt with them before but I have never seen him in his kilt.
I am also looking into a Welsh cilt from Celtic Croft. My mother's madden name is Harris. They have a Harris tartan in there Welsh line.
One other question is if anybody has any pointers to look for in a quality tank. Being a newbie I need all the help I can get.
any info will be appreciated
Thank You,
TKR

I've not dealt with them, but i have only heard good things about them, recently I got a kilt from Barb Tewksburry who is a member here, here is the review of it, Barb is wonderful to work with I would reccommend her to anyone.

I may be able to help you with a tank. Barb T. and myself both make tanks.

Hi...welcome from Flint, Michigan!
I have dealt with the Scotland Yard in the past. I can't speak to their kilts, but I got my ghillie brogues from them when I first got into the pipe band world a few years ago. The service and product were top-notch, and they had excellent prices!

I've been a customer of The Scotland Yard since 2002. They're actually located at 646 Frankfort Road Shelbyville Kentucky - this is their new storefront.
Purchases I've made from them include 7 tanks, kilt hose, hose flashes, balmorals, brogues, sgian dubh, sporrans, kilt belts, kilt pins, clan badges, and other things. Their customer service and product quality have always amazed me - and I'm a picky and impatient old man
They also have a time pay plan in which you can order many items, pay $75 doesn and $50 per month until the balance is paid in full. This isn't a lay away plan in that they will ship the items to you when the order is ready to go regardless of your time pay plan balance. I don't think any company with bad products would last long with this kind of pay plan.
I have to say, this is one excellent company and they'll have my business for quite a while.

I've never purchased anything from Scotland Yard, but I can whole-heartedly recommend the Celtic Croft. I purchased an ancient kilt with cheater pleats from them, and it arrived quickly, was a good value for the price, and the customer service was quite good.

These guys all got outfitted by Scotland Yard. I am not one of them- I myself am a kilted reverend and was officiating- but they were all pleased with the service and price. I asked about it in particular because myself and a friend of mine are getting a wedding coordination company started, so knowing where their kilts came from seemed like a good thing. However, I myself am outfitted by USA Kilts and Celtic Croft.

Great company. Reasonable prices and great customer service. Their time payment plan is fantastic for those on a budget. I was just down there at the end of March getting my groomsmen fitted for my wedding.
