    Kilt strap extenders

    Greetings all,

This may very well be in the wrong forum and, if it is, I apologize.
I am looking for some brown kilt extender straps that are 1" wide. These are for a set of boots I recently acquired that have leather buckles on them. Unfortunately they do not fit around my legs and are in need of some assistance.
I am only able to find .75", 1.25", and 1.5".
These are the boots in question:

You best bet is to take them to a local cobbler or bag repair shop.

They'll be able to help match the leather and style (as well as any stitching).

    artificer,

I will have to look into that. I am not too concerned about the leather style and stitching since I am not planning to wear these anywhere where it would matter.

Strap Extenders - Local & Thifty

Suggest the same method I used for getting low cost extenders for my kilt.

Go to local thrift or re-sale shop and check out theire selection of used belts.

You may be albe to find a selecton of belts that are correct width and color.

Then cut the belt to desired length and punch new holes.

I was able to buy three belts, at fifty cents each, that are now my kilt extenders.

    cavscout,

Not much more than 2". The end of the current straps just touch the edge of the buckle.

    Kaw-Liga,

That is a good idea. There should be some female belts out there that are only 1" wide.

You might consider using Chicago Screws to simply attach the few inches needed to the existing strap through the existing holes. Then you won't have another buckle involved. They come in black, nickel and brass.

So just those and some 1" wide leather with holes in it? Sounds brilliant.

Just make sure to use a little 'thread lok' or similar on the screws, they can work themselves loose otherwise.
