Kilt Surprise

I received my Irish America ntartan kilt from Scottishkilts.net today. Although I was expecting it the arrival was a complete. How? I was never notified it had been shipped. It's celebration time!!

Southern Breeze,

So what do you think of your new kilt? Please give us a review of it so we can judge the consistency of this company's kilts.

Okay, here's a quick review. The fit is spot on,length and waist are exactly as orderd. There are 28 pleats, all are right at 1 1/2" in depth. There were a few odd wrinkles but a quick steaming took care of that. Overall I'd say it's very well made. There's nothing wrong with the construction that I can find. I'm extremly pleased with it.

I just got mine over the weekend - I think I ordered it at the end of February and I was a bit hesitant about the quality when a few days later they said it was being shipped.

But those fears were unfounded. It's a wonderful bargain at twice the price (which, since it was half off, was the normal price ). It's pleated to the sett very nicely, very cleanly, too. I gave it a thorough once-over and everything is lined up very nicely. It's heavy enough that you don't need a kilt pin but light enough that it's not like you're walking around with a lead skirt or anything. The colors are a tad brighter than I was ready for, but they look really nice.

I'm especially pleased about the tartan itself - the variety of colors in it make it very easy to match up hose and shirts with. I have a pair of the gold knee-length Blaxnit hose that someone called our attention to a few months ago and they look perfect with the kilt. I think it'll actually look better with brown sporran and belt than black, and unfortunately I don't have a brown sporran yet, but that'll have to be my next purchase.

I look forward to being able to wear this kilt this weekend and taking in the oohs and aahs of my fellow revelers!

I could not resist any longer and ordered one today. A heavyweight worsted wool kilt for $104.93 is hard to beat. All the comments sound very positive.
