Kilt at work, and sharing the kilt and xmarks with a coworker

I wore my newest kilt to work on Friday, and one of my coworkers commented on it, and she said that she's been wanting to get her husband into a kilt for years. I referred her to Stillwater, based on price and customer service, and I referred her here, of course. Hopefully they will soon join the rabble.

On a side note, my boss observed my classroom on Friday. He's only had positive things to say about the kilt in the past... but they're really coming down on us for anything and everything they can find. We'll see if the kilt comes up in my annual evaluation in March or April. Maybe I'll go to that meeting kilted too.

I remember from student teaching how nerve wracking observations are. Here's hoping for nothing but a "well done, and stylishly done too!"

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing that worry. What is the cause of that? management/worker tensions?

Management/worker relations are actually fairly good... we just renegotiated our contract and got a 3% raise and a 1% bonus.

I think alot of it has to do with the fact that our test scores are lower than expected... and with NCLB, we now have the state and federal governments breathing down our necks. Plus, I work in Special Education, which is mostly federally funded, so we're really getting hammered.

District admin is putting pressure on site admin, and of course, site admin is putting pressure on us as a result. But, of course, they're not touching the teachers, who are educated... they're going ofter support staff- custodial, security, instructional aides... Why does management always go after unskilled/uneducated workers first?

Unfortunately, for various reasons, they're usually seen as more expendable, and in less of a position to resist than the professionals. But are you not a teacher?
