Kilted at the Agency Holiday Party

So last night wore my red Scott modern kilt to my agency's holiday party. Has the red, white, green colors of the season. Added a heather green sweater over a white dress shirt, dark green hose with matching tartan flashes, and black Z Coil shoes.

There were only about 40 people there, a lot of coworkers and their spouses didn't make it for various reasons.

Everyone wore pants except for the boss' wife in a dress, an admin lady in a skirt, and me kilted.

No comments at all, even from the spouses who may not have seen me kilted. We did the gift exchange thing where we bring a generic gift and each person's name is drawn from a hat to take a turn picking out a gift.

If someone would rather take a gift from someone who already opened one they can do that instead of chancing a wrapped gift. An unwrapped gift can change hands twice, then its out of play. So there was lots of exchanging of things like lottery tickets and massage devices.

I wound up with a selection of exotic coffee, but I don't do caffeine and never could stand the taste of coffee even on extremely cold mornings when I wanted to find a way to drink it. So I'm trying to encourage others to take my coffee so I can have another shot at the gift table.

The boss lost a gift to someone and wound up roaming around looking for a replacement. I held up my box of coffe and encouraged him to take it.

He says, "I'll take the coffee if you'll agree to wear pants for a month." I didn't answer but just pulled the coffee away and hugged it. Good for a laugh.

Fortunately, later on someone else wanted the coffee.

    Red face

Well done, Ron. Better to keep the coffee than agree to a month of trouser tyranny.
Well done too on giving up alcohol AND caffeine. Since I stopped the alcohol I've become even more of a caffeine junkie.

    Good story!

I'm trying to give up caffinated soft drinks. Otherwise, I only drink fine teas, mainly Irish Breakfast from specialteas.com Tea is low in cafeine and is good for you to boot . . . until you add the milk and sugar
