    Kilted at the Beer Festival

Well Saturday I'll be attending the Microbrewery Festival at Stoudt's Brewery in Adamstown, PA. Although I've been several times in the past, it will be the first time I attend kilted. One year (I think it was two years ago) one group did attend kilted - they even marched up to the door with a piper! That was, however, the only time I've seen any kilts there.

Each year at our microbrewery festival there have usually been one or two traditional kilt wearers. Last year there were at least three more in UK's and FK's and they got lots of (especially) female attention. I'll be wearing my FK for the first time this year too. Have fun!

Raphael, it's on September 9 and 10 this year.

Let me know if you're coming over. I always volunteer at it as well as attending. I think there are some places in Vancouver where you can buy tickets.
    Cheers,

It's a great event, and even better since they started having it outside. So many beers, so little time . . .

Well, I just got back from the festival and I was the only kilted person there. I got some positive comments from the ladies and one from another man. I also got my first official kilt lifting. The poor girl only got started when I felt it and turned around. The poor girl was so embarrassed I had to put my arm around her to calm her down. From what I could see, some of her companions had put her up to it. I'll have to admit it was kind of fun being the guy in the kilt. I felt pretty good for a guy in his mid-40's getting the attention from 20-something ladies.

Isn't it great getting that kind of attention? How was the beer?

The beer was pretty good, for the most part, but then they usually are there. I have to admit I'm not really a big beer drinker (or anything else for that matter) but I do enjoy going to the festival and trying the different styles. I usually find myself trying to imagine what recipes would work for a particular beer. There was a chocolate stout there that I could easily imagine using in a rich chocolate cake. The only beer I really wondered why the brewer had bothered was a lite beer they had brewed. While I can understand the place of lite beers in the scheme of things, this one actually tasted like water!
