    Kilted Beer Tasting

So I happen to live in a very fertile microbrewery area here in Asheville, NC and a friend of mine is opening a brand new one, brewing some very cool beers. I went kilted tonight (SWK MacLaren Thrifty) to his tasting party, and the kilt was a hit for sure. I met two lovely ladies in the beer line who asked me if I had just come from bagpipe practice. haha! I explained I didn't play pipes, but that I *was* a musician. Ended up talking to them all night. They were intrigued by the kilt, but in a good way. All comments were positive all night!. I got lots of 'looks great' and 'nice kilt!' comments. After the tasting I jumped up the road to Jack Of The Wood and got several positive comments from some patrons and a quite attractive server. I had a nice discussion with a gentleman about his Scottish heritage, tartans, etc. and he knew about Matt's museum down in Franklin. All in all, a great night. Oh yeah, it's rainy, slightly warm, and windy. Perfect kilt weather... except for the wind. d'oh!

    Sounds like a great night.

But what beers were sampled? Inquiring minds want to know!

    Cheers

I wish I could remember everything...
One was an 'Antebellum Ale', using a Civil War-era family recipe my friend recovered from an old family heirloom chest, another was an Irish Stout using Irish rye and some other choice ingredients, and another was a Dunkel Weiss, a dark wheat beer. If I remember more, I'll let ya know. All were superb!

Did any of the lovely ladies give you their number?
