    KIlted at Mardi Gras Celabration

Ok for the last three years, Cloudcroft has been having a big deal over Mardi Gras in part to have something going on during the slow season.
A heated tent is set up, there are dances, coronation of a King and Queen, and the really big deal, the parade.
This year was the warmest it has been at parade time, 38.8F. Big fat flakes of snow had been falling all day though the roads were clear but very wet. There were 20 floats entered this year and everyone was having a ball, beads, doubloons, candy, all kinds of stuff were flying in every direction off of the floats.
As I have done the two years previous, I wore a kilt, wandered about saying hello to old friends, eating gumbo and crawfish, listening to live music, offering to warm the lasses cold hands in my pleats and just kicking back and having a fun time.
Did have several folks ask if I was cold but I had on one of my "tanks" and a flannel lined jacket. Toasty warm for the most part.

Except for the temperature there... I'm jealous! It's actually warmer in Valley Forge in the winter than in N'Orleans?

Have fun down there, but DON'T let me catch you on an episode of COPS.

Sadly I'm not in Nawlins at the moment, but the live music rocked this year 8)

    Louisiana Celts...

Check out there folks' web page to see how Celts celebrate Mardi Gras in the Big Easy:

I'm off to a Mardi Gras party at my mother-in-law's church this Tuesday! My mother-in-law is cooking Cajun for the parish, and is having Russian & King cakes flown in from Nawleans especially for the occasion!

Rob, it sounds like you passed a good time there, as the Cajuns say!

    Cheers, Sher!
