Kilted Show: "Mr. Augustana; 2010"

So, finally, 3 weeks after, I get the chance to post about my most recent exciting kilted experience.

A sorority on my campus holds an annual male "beauty" pageant sort of thing called Mr. Augustana (my college name) to raise money for the American Breast Cancer Foundation and they recruit guys to volunteer and compete in it. One of the girls I work with in a group for my intro to education theory class sent me an application and my girlfriend said I might as well submit it, so I did, and lo and behold, I heard back saying they would love to have me in the event!

on the night of the event, we had to do a group dance routine then everything else was individual performances of "Formal Wear," "Talent," and "Swimwear." I decided to go kilted for each event save for the dancing (which made me sad, but we were doing backwards somersaults... so... yeah.)

Below I'll post some of the (sadly) few pictures of the event of myself kilted "formally", followed by the talent portion, where I played a very short self-"written" (made up, haha) bagpipe song. Following that they cut down the 11 contestants to 7 and I made the cut to compete in the swimwear portion. I wish there were a video or pictures of it but I haven't seen any yet, but I put my swimsuit (basic shorts) under my USAK Casual and then strutted about on stage, then abruptly ripped it off thanks to the velcro. Now THAT got some applause, haha! Alas, I got cut in the cut from 7 to 5 men and did not win the title, but it was great fun.

So, here are some pictures of the event! It was a WONDERFUL night and sooo fun.

If I find more pictures, I'll try to post them too!

Fabulous! Sorry you did not make it further in the competition---there is just no accounting for taste. Probably was the bagpipes---it really is an acquired taste.

Well done you.

Well done, E man! It looks like a splendid outing, regardless of the "official" results.
